For the first time this years conference with close with a panel instead of a closing keynote.

We usually don't have many or no panels at all at Meeting C++. First there is the space in the program, which is diffcult with parallel talks running. Also in the past the lounge track was a great way to host discussions in a good setting, though this worked better when Meeting C++ had 400+ attendees. The lounge room likely will host the 5th track again like last year. Its also a good use of space and makes more content available to the audience.

A few weeks ago I had to realize that its getting close to the conference, and that preparing a keynote in 11-9 weeks might not be optimal. Hence came the idea of hosting a panel, and with lots of great speakers at the conference this should be easy to organize!

Also as Meeting C++ 2026 is this year during thanks giving, that means a few of the very well talented American C++ speakers are not really available. Also this year is the 15th Meeting C++ conference, which means lots of folks did already give a keynote. And then, with more C++ conferences, comes the problem of folks giving already keynotes. I do still have a long list of candidates for keynoting in my head, but its not as easy as doing a range for on that list, you got to think who could be interesting this year? And you can't parallelize the problem, each keynote slot is specific.
